Rent Storage in Dubai, Month To Month

Month-to-month is how every booking here works, not an option you upgrade to. There is no minimum term, no lock-in period and no cancellation fee anywhere in self storage in Dubai as we run it.

You are billed monthly on the floor space your goods occupy at AED 12.65 per sq ft, VAT included. If you take half of it back in March, April is billed on what is left. If you end it entirely, you tell us and it ends.

That matters more in this city than most, because Dubai timelines slip. Handovers move, visas take longer than promised, and a job start date shifts by three weeks. A storage contract that punishes you for that is a storage contract that was designed for the operator.

What monthly actually means here

Three specific commitments, because “flexible” on its own means nothing.

No minimum term. A fortnight is a fortnight. There is no six-month floor, which is the industry norm elsewhere and the thing most people are checking for when they ask.

No exit penalty. Ending the booking costs nothing beyond the final delivery, which is quoted like any other transport job. You are not buying your way out of anything.

No fixed size. The billed space follows the goods. Add a second collection and it goes up from that month; take half back and it goes down. Nothing is renegotiated, and there is no new agreement to sign. If you would rather understand it as a space rental, storage space for rent frames the same thing that way.

What a month costs, by what you are storing

One rate throughout, VAT included, on measured space. Transport is separate and quoted on your address and access.

What you are storingTypical spaceWhat decides the final figure
10–20 cartons15–25 sq ftHow well they stack — sealed cartons stack, loose items do not
Studio contents~30 sq ftWhether the mattress and any wardrobe come too
1BHK contents60–90 sq ftSofa size and whether appliances are included
2BHK contents120–150 sq ftNumber of wardrobes and how much is boxed rather than loose
3BHK villa contents240–270 sq ftGarden and garage items, which are usually underestimated

Boxing loose items yourself before collection is the one thing that reliably lowers a monthly bill, because packed cartons stack and loose belongings do not. The full price breakdown works through this properly.

When month-to-month is the wrong choice

It very rarely is, but there is one honest case. If you know for certain that you are storing for two or three years and you will never need access, you would in principle be better served by an operator who will discount hard for a long fixed commitment — that is a real trade and some businesses offer it.

What we would say against that is the same thing our long-term customers say: certainty about a three-year plan is rarer than people think, and the discount is usually smaller than the cost of being locked in when the plan changes. Long term storage explains how we handle multi-year bookings without asking for the commitment.

The other case is genuinely wanting unaccompanied access at 2am to a unit you hold the key to. That is a different product and a nearby yard does it better.

What you are not charged for

  • The quote, and the survey if one is needed.
  • Wrapping materials used during collection.
  • Loading, carrying and the service-lift arrangements at your building.
  • Changing the amount you store, up or down.
  • Ending the booking.

What is charged: the monthly storage on measured space, and each transport job — the collection, and any delivery or retrieval. Both are quoted before they happen and the quoted figure is the figure billed.

Common questions

There is none. The shortest bookings we take run a fortnight, usually because an Ejari ended before the next lease started. There is no six-month floor and no minimum-term clause.

Enough to schedule the delivery, which in practice is a couple of days. There is no notice period to serve and no early-termination charge; the only cost of ending is the delivery job itself, quoted like any other.

No deposit is taken against a unit, because you are not holding a unit. Billing is monthly in arrears on measured space.

Yes, if you prefer to. It does not change the rate and it does not lock you in — an unused balance is simply carried or refunded if the booking ends earlier than planned.

You are billed for the month up to the delivery on the space that was held. Once the goods have gone the account closes and nothing further is charged.

From the following month's invoice, on the new measured space. You are not back-billed for the part-month, and the additional collection is quoted separately as its own transport job.
