Apartment Moving in Dubai
A tower-to-tower move in Dubai is a logistics problem before it is a lifting problem, and the thing that goes wrong is almost always the same: someone booked the move-out lift and forgot the move-in one. Both are arranged as part of moving and storage in Dubai.
We deal with both buildings. Service lift bookings, permitted moving windows, move-out permits, NOCs where the building wants one, and loading-bay access at each end.
If the two dates do not meet — and Ejari end dates and handover dates rarely do — everything goes into storage for the gap rather than into a hotel room.
The building is the constraint, not the furniture
The difference between a three-hour move and a seven-hour one in a Dubai tower is almost never the amount of stuff. It is whether the lift was booked, whether it is being shared with another move that day, and whether the building permits work at the hour you arranged.
None of this is published anywhere. Some towers want 48 hours' notice and a refundable deposit; some restrict moves to specific hours; some in the Marina, JLT and Downtown do not permit moves on certain days at all. Older buildings in Deira and Bur Dubai often want a move-out permit or an owner's NOC.
We do several of these a week and know which buildings want what, which is most of the value. If you are moving yourself, the single most useful thing you can do is call both buildings three days out rather than one.
The other frequent failure is parking. Several Marina and JLT towers have no usable loading bay, and a bay has to be reserved. A van that cannot park is a move that has not started.
How a tower-to-tower move runs
- 1
Both addresses at booking — Not just the one you are leaving. This is the step people skip and the one that costs a day.
- 2
We arrange both buildings — Lift slots, permits, registration and loading bay at each end.
- 3
Pack, load, transport, unload — A 1BHK is three to five hours end to end when both lifts are booked; considerably longer when they are not.
- 4
Or into storage if the dates do not meet — Common, and it costs the gap rather than a month. Packing services covers the packing half.
What to confirm before the day
- The permitted moving window at both buildings, and whether either restricts certain days.
- Whether a move-out permit or owner's NOC is required — common in older Deira and Bur Dubai buildings.
- Whether the new building needs its move-in slot booked separately, which most do.
- Loading bay or van parking at both ends.
- Whether the service lift is shared and how long you have it for.
- Box everything loose beforehand. In a tower this matters more than in a villa because it all goes through one lift.
